CEO – The CEO is the primary liaison between the MMIA Board of Directors and the MMIA staff. Responsibilities for this position include executing all Board decisions and policies, and supervising all of the programs under the MMIA. In addition to the programs offered by MMIA, the CEO must also be involved with the reinsurance process and works extensively with multi-pool organizations, such as: the Association of Government Risk Pools, (AGRIP), the Public Risk Management Association, (PRIMA), and the National Public Entities Excess Program, (NPX).


Deputy CEO – The Deputy CEO serves as the secondary contact for the MMIA Board of Directors as well as a resource for information on each program, product and the materials offered through MMIA. This position assists the CEO with the management and supervision of the MMIA programs/staff and acts as the department head for the Liability, Property and Risk Management departments. They also work extensively with the member city councils, commissions, civic groups, multi-pool organizations and the general public.


CFO - The CFO is responsible for directing, managing, supervising and coordinating the MMIA’s financial and accounting programs. The CFO reports to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This position develops and monitors the MMIA’s Cash Management function, coordinates banking services, and participates in the preparation and presentation of the MMIA annual budget. The CFO also coordinates plans and administers the financial aspects of all MMIA programs.


Human Resource and Risk Management Programs Manager – This position manages/assists with all human resource related matters for the MMIA staff, including: hiring, dismissals, discipline, promotions, payroll and benefits administration, development and implementation of personnel policies. Employment practices and risk management functions are outlined under the Risk Management tab.


Office Manager - The Office Manager provides all forms of administrative support to the MMIA CEO, Board of Directors and professional staff. Responsibilities include preparing all annual Liability, Worker’s Compensation and Property membership billings for the MMIA membership and assisting with preparation/facilitation of all Board Meetings, conferences, and MMIA events.


Information Services Manager – The Information Services Manager maintains and supports all hardware and software which make up the MMIA computer network. This includes the MMIA computer system, network security, all hardware and software upgrades, installation of all new software and backing up all MMIA computer files on a routine basis. This position assists the IS Tech position as the "Support Desk" for the MMIA staff.


Application Integration and Database Analyst - Responsible for coordinating activities related to the integration of software programs and applications within MMIA’s information technology systems.  This position is also responsible for researching software solutions for MMIA Departments and ensuring interoperability of software applications.  This position is also responsible for all database and report generating operations (custom and pre-defined) within the Montana Municipal Interlocal Authority (MMIA) with a focus toward optimizing data extraction techniques.  


Information Services Technician - Provides hardware, software and network support, maintenance, training, and troubleshooting.  This includes all applications on the MMIA computer system and assists in coordinating any pertinent computer related training.


Accounting Associate – The Accounting Associates are responsible for Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, account reconciliations, claims payments, Payroll, compliance audits, program tracking spreadsheets, as well as general technical assistance for the CFO.


Administrative Support – The Administrative Support position assists the professional staff with all administrative functions including answering the telephones, processing the mail, maintaining the office equipment and supplies, preparing large mailings, transcription and other duties as needed.

Claims Technician - The Claims Technicians help adjusters prepare claims for investigation/closure. They input the claims into the MMIA’s general claims software and provides administrative support to the Liability/Property Claims Unit. They also issue payments for legal fees and settlements, changes reserves, prepares status and closing reports, and provide administrative support to the unit.
